HueArts & Cultures

About the Mapping Projects

Launched in 2020, the HueArts & Cultures research initiative documents the impact, challenges, and need for greater funding support for museums and cultural institutions founded and led by Black, Indigenous, Latino/e/x, Asian, Middle Eastern, and all People of Color in New York and throughout the United States. Accompanying our comprehensive written research reports are digital maps and directories accessible for free to arts and culture professionals, scholars, funders, government officials, and the greater public. Museum Hue has identified over 900+ nonprofit arts entities of color to date, beginning in New York City, then expanding to New York State, Northeastern states, and eventually nationally.
